Quebe Sisters’ Sibling Harmony takes over the Grand Ole Opry

Our recent trip to the Grand Ole Opry was a night to remember. We reunited with old friends, played some Texas fiddle music, and took in the awe of the Ryman Auditorium.

It’s an honor to perform at the “Mother Church of Country Music,” a stage that country and bluegrass music’s biggest stars have shared.

This was the first time for our bass player, Daniel Parr, and guitar player, Simon Stipp to experience the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman with The Quebe Sisters.

“Standing before the same room that all the country music greats have as the curtains opened was a tear-jerking moment to be sure. It’s a distinct privilege to play in such places and something I will never take for granted.” ~Simon Stipp

During winter months the Grand Ole Opry is held at the historic Ryman Auditorium, the birth place of Bluegrass music. The Grand Ole Opry started its broadcast in 1925 and live from the Ryman Auditorium in 1943, since then it has become the longest running radio show in the world!

Anytime we perform on the Grand Ole Opry it feels like a part of history. It will always be special to share a little Texas swing and sibling harmony over the WSM 650 AM airwaves.

If my memory serves me correctly, the first broadcast was “Uncle” Jimmy Thompson playing his fiddle. I think it is so fitting for the Quebes to be there and playing the fire out of their fiddles and singing such pretty harmony.

  • Oh I wish I had been there. I wanted to see you at Lancaster Pa. but didn’t make it. Would like to go on that cruise with you in coming up but not sure now. Still want to hear you do Patsy
